Introducing CELPAD

We are thrilled to announce the official launch of CELPAD, a Ghanaian-based non-governmental, not-for-profit organization on a mission to provide customized professional practitioner training to practitioners in land rights and project management.

Our Target

CELPAD is established to be the center for professional training in land rights and project management. Through this training, we deliver simplified tools for use by land rights advocates and practitioners in Africa. Our goal is to provide practical training for securing land rights for policy actors, land administration officials, investors, civil society organizations working on land rights and the natural resource sector.

For most of these actors, secured land rights are a fundamental condition for the success of all activities they undertake. Through our professional training program, we deliver capacity support to help them successfully navigate the process for achieving secured land rights for all their development programs and investments.

Our Vision

We want to see a demystified land sector where land tenure is mainstreamed in all land-based activities by all professional actors with the active participation of informed actors capable of contributing to sound land governance and enhanced land tenure security.

Our Mission

Our mission is to deliver capacity strengthening to professionals in the sector, information and data resources, and customized tools for navigating the land sector towards enhanced land tenure security.

We focus on;

-Delivering customized professional practitioners training programs in land governance

The focus here is to provide simplified training, coaching and mentoring for land policy actors, land rights advocates, investors and land administrators on the basic concepts in land governance, strategies and processes for achieving secured land tenure.

Compiling and disseminating best practices, principles and international standards relevant to land rights practitioners in Africa.

-Delivering customized professional practitioner training programs in project management

Development projects are implemented by both civil society organizations as well as state institutions. Investors who implement investment projects in communities also end up implementing some developmental projects for the communities impacted by the investment activities. All these professionals end up in project management even if their primary role is not project management. The professional practitioner program is delivered to equip participants on relevant project management skills, the project cycle, strategies for managing each step in the cycle and the tools for implementing all steps in the project cycle.

-Hosting learning events with actors and practitioners in the land sector in Africa

-Hosting a database on land policy initiatives in Africa, documenting and disseminating issues, lessons, and impacts

We look forward to sharing our upcoming activities with you very soon!

Nana Ama Yirrah

Executive Director, CELPAD
